LED-Conversion-Kit Mercedes-Benz Unimog
With the Scheinwerfer LUXX LED conversion kit, you can upgrade your Unimog from the 424, 425, 427, 435, and 437 series to the ultra-modern Nolden AVEGO or AVEGO Edge LED headlights.
Nolden Cars&Concepts is a German developer and manufacturer of high-quality LED headlights and a Tier-1 supplier to vehicle manufacturers (OEMs). Scheinwerfer LUXX integrates these lights into various conversion kits to upgrade older vehicles to state-of-the-art LED lighting.
Currently, two generations of Nolden LED headlights are available. The 3rd generation of LED technology is used in the Nolden AVEGO, while the 4th generation is featured in the Nolden AVEGO Edge. You are free to choose between either lighting generation.
AVEGO
The AVEGO headlights are available in two variants: "O" and "U". This refers exclusively to the surrounding light guide, which either encloses all four sides ("O") or is dimmed at the top ("U"), so that the daytime running light and position light illuminate in a "U" shape.
AVEGO Edge
The AVEGO Edge represents the next generation of the AVEGO. The low-beam headlight has 4% more power and provides wider, more homogeneous illumination. The high-beam headlight features 22% more power.
Daytime running lights, position lights, and turn signals are no longer designed as a surrounding light guide, but rather as prominent, angled bars at the top and bottom. Additionally, a matching set of rear lights is now available in the same design, allowing you to run matching lights all around the vehicle.
Both headlight types are IP6K9K certified, meaning they are waterproof up to a water depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
The Scheinwerfer LUXX LED Conversion Kit
The mounting kit is made entirely of A2 stainless steel and powder-coated in RAL 9005. Custom colors are available upon request for an additional charge. The vast majority of the edges are chamfered to counteract the typical edge thinning that occurs during powder coating, resulting in a more pleasing look and feel.
Our conversion kit utilizes the mounting points of the original halogen headlights, as well as the existing connections (H4 socket: low beam, high beam, and ground) and spade terminals (position light). Due to the new daytime running light function, there is one connection that is not present at the front headlight itself, which you will need to connect yourself. The wiring harness provides a long cable that must be connected to Terminal 15 (this refers to any contact that carries power when the "ignition is on").
The entire conversion is described in great detail in the instructions. At the end, you will also find a quick guide for the initial correct alignment of the headlights. However, you should have this checked by a specialist workshop after installation.
What is Included in the LED Conversion Kit
The LED conversion kit contains everything needed for the modification:
- 2 x LED low-beam headlights with daytime running lights and position lights
- 2 x LED high-beam headlights with high beam (AVEGO) or high beam and position light (AVEGO Edge)
An optional turn signal integrated into the high-beam headlight is also available; however, this is not permitted under the StVO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations), which allow only two forward-facing turn signals. - Mounting bolts for the headlights within the bracket kit

Options
Protective Grilles
We offer our own protective grilles for the LED conversion kit, as any existing grilles may not be approved for use with headlights other than the originals. These also provide a significant visual upgrade.
Headlight Leveling Control
If the vehicle requires a headlight leveling control system (mandatory for first registrations from January 1, 1990, onwards), our 12 V or 24 V headlight leveling control can be ordered as an option. Due to the different headlight geometry, mounting points, and travel curves of the actuator motors, the original adjustment system cannot be reused. The actuator motors are also IP6K9K protected.
