With this conversion kit, you can switch the Mercedes-Benz Unimog 1300L and other models with the same bumper from halogen lighting to LED main headlights.
LED light has several advantages over halogen light (Advantages of LED lighting). Trucks in particular, with their higher-mounted halogen lights, have the problem of poor illumination of the road, especially in bad weather. This is where LED headlights show their full strength.
Scope of delivery and functions
The conversion kit always consists of the four rectangular Nolden NCC AVEGO LED headlights with IP6K9K certification, the mounting system, and a multi-part connection wiring harness.
On the outside are two low-beam headlights with 1401 lumens, whose surrounding light guide, capped at the top (version "U"), also acts as a daytime running light and position light. On the inside are two high-beam headlights, whose light guides have no function (mono high-beam headlights).
No additional control unit is needed. The headlights switch automatically in line with the UN ECE regulations. The headlights do not require any inspection, parts report, ABE, and so on, because they carry all the necessary UN ECE markings (E-mark) for the lighting functions as well as the radio interference suppression. Installation in the old halogen headlight position is in line with UN ECE R48.
The conversion kits were developed by Lichttechnik in close cooperation with Nolden Engineering to achieve the best performance.
All of the bracket material is made of rustproof stainless steel. Screws and nuts come in two different grades (A2 and A4), and an anti-seize paste is also included for installation.
The complete kit contains all the mounting material and ready-made wiring harnesses. The vehicle's connections (H4 and position light) are reused, which lets you convert back to the original halogen headlight (not with the Waterproof cable version). The connection wiring harness for the vehicle has a loose cable end for connecting to ignition-switched power (terminal 15).

The coating
This basic version is powder-coated in RAL 9005 (black).
You can read more about this coating here:

For installation, we recommend the crimping pliers from Knipex. For the butt connector, you can use the SL-KN-975237 pliers. You also need a heat gun to fit the heat-shrink tubing.
Note: Electrical work on the vehicle should be carried out by a specialist workshop.
